Quote "I think we might find more non-Christians turning to Christ if we as Christians concentrated considerably more on a God-honoring lifestyle than simply on evangelistic strategies. Obviously we need both. But I think we are shooting ourselves in the foot if we try to witness apart from Christlike conduct.” - Doug Sherman and William Hendricks, Authors of “Your Work Matters to God” Points of Leadership is all about equipping leaders in maximizing their leadership for the people they lead. In a 2023 Gallup article on how spirituality affects well-being in all areas of life with a focus on the workplace, Blankemeier and Levey provide some tools for better well-being. Another report by Gallup and Radiant Foundation on Faith and Wellness: The Worldwide Connection Between Spirituality and Wellbeing, highlights the importance of spirituality and well-being. The report adds to the existing body of research findings that people with a spiritual life often have better well-being than people that do not. The Gallup report uses the word Religiosity for spirituality. This word holds more admiration to the widespread knowledge of having faith in God. Simply put, the report is making the claims that spiritual people tend to have better meaningful life purposes. For believers in Christ, we know the reason why we have purpose is because of Jesus Christ. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Furthermore, the Faith and Wellness Gallup report explains the potentially positive effects of faith on well-being in a time of heightened negative emotions. When we look around our world or any industry, we can easily see and find the negativity, downward spiral of well-being and much more. The times we live in call for spiritual leadership, helping people navigate and orient their lives to the Greater purpose of life, that is found in Jesus Christ- the Savior of the world. The Faith and Wellness report indicates that globally, experiences of negative emotions — such as sadness, worry, stress and anger — are at their highest level in more than a decade of measurement. The ultimate goal in measuring well-being is not to point to the metrics, but to maximize positive outcomes and minimize negative ones so people can live the best life possible. This is where spiritual leadership comes in. If you have a walk with God, your industry needs you. Your team needs you. Your world needs you. Your spiritual leadership is crucial in helping people minimize negative outcomes by building their faith in Christ. This is the time to live out that unshakeable kingdom of God that resides in you. Living for God is a high calling. Trust God to do the heart work of salvation as you live out for Him and continue in prayer. Everyone’s eternal destination is important and believers in Christ are called to partner with God for the salvation of people in all places.
